To maintain healthy fingernails, avoid infections, and improve nail appearance, try the following tips:
Keep your nails clean and dry.
Avoid nail-biting or picking.
Apply moisturizer to your nails and cuticles every day. Creams with urea, phospholipids, or lactic acid can help prevent cracking.
File your nails in one direction and round the tip slightly, rather than filing to a point.
Don't remove the cuticles or clean too deeply under your nails, which can lead to infection.
Don't dig out ingrown toenails. See a dermatologist if they become bothersome.
Avoid nail polish removers that contain acetone or formaldehyde.
Bring your own instruments if you get frequent manicures
Eat a balanced diet and take vitamins containing biotin.
Don't use your fingers as letter openers. That destroys the cuticles, which destroys the nail matrix and affects nail growth and strength.
Don't soak nails for long periods, and never use any kind of soap or detergent when soaking. Nails and cuticles that become engorged with water weaken, and the longer soap or detergent is in contact with skin and nails (despite the advertisements for Palmolive dish detergent) the greater the potential for damaging the nail and cuticle structure.
Don't overuse any kind of nail-polish remover. Use a minimal amount on the nail and avoid getting too much on the cuticle and skin.Hi friends how to maintain the beauty of nails?
There are many good ways to keep your nails nice and healthy.
First of all, make sure you eat healthy. I'm talking about eating plenty of veggies and protein. Your hair and nails are mainly made up of proteins. Also drink plenty of water.
Another thing is keeping them clean and manicured. This keeps them nice and strong.
If you need additional help, go and talk to your natrurpath or a pharmacist. Ask for a vitamin supplement specifically for nail and hair. Something containing silicon will be beneficial.
